         Once loved by the Etruscans and the ancient Romans, it became famous for the nobility all over Europe in 1743, when the Grand Duke of Tuscany, Francesco Stefano of Lorena, made it his own summer spa residence, as well as a fashionable meeting place which had among its other important guests well-known people such as Gustav of Sweden, George IV of England, Vittorio Alfieri, Percy B. and Mary Shelley, Ibrahim Pascià, The Cardinal of York and Carlo Goldoni.
        We committed ourselves to raise from its ashes a phoenix which appeared to be vanished forever. Our architects, interior decorators and designers knew how to interpret the philosophy of the STB group (our Wellness Spa Company) in the best way, giving back the soul to the walls of this historical abode, blooming again in all its splendor. Our personnel makes the picture perfect since you will be at the center of the most absolute exclusive attention in every moment, but always with discretion.
       The setting of this jewel of well-being is art, history, Pisa, Lucca, nature and the Maritime Park of San Rossore and the social life of Versilia.   
       To walk in the footsteps of the illustrious guests among the arcades in terracotta embellished with citrus fruit or to go along the wellness path  to the Kafe’ Haus for the view as far as the sea is an unforgettable unique experience.   In the rooms the view of the starry sky are blended in by the pastel colors of the frescoed vaulted ceilings from the 1700s, with hanging lofts with wooden floors to admire them better and be cradled by history. From the windows you can admire the Leaning Tower of Pisa. Rooms have retractable TV LCD which doesn't affect the atmosphere, adaptable air-conditioning for the desired temperature, marble and smooth crushed stone floors to relive history, bathrooms with two sinks, a shower and a separate  tub.

Sport & Relax:
         San Giuliano Wellness Centre is in an advantageous position between Pisa and Lucca and thus it is an unequalled departure point for urbanistic, architectual and figurative excursions to the Tuscan cities of art and as an alternative it offers automobile and  mountain bike itineraries to characteristic villages rich in history and immersed in the typical Tuscan countryside.
        With the Pisa Mountains and the Apuan Alps in the background, and the marvelous natural patrimony of the Park of San Rossore, it offers its tourists the possibility of taking very beautiful excursions on foot, horse-back riding or even by carriage in order to discover unique places in contact with nature.   By being so near to the Mediterranean Sea it also makes your stay even more rich and enjoyable, especially during the spring and summer months.
       An extremely different coastal region, in fact, allows you to visit both Versilia, with its famous towns of Viareggio and Forte dei Marmi, capable of offering fun and entertainment till late at night, and the smaller region of Tirrenia, coveted goal for Golf enthusiasts with its two courses with 9 and 18 holes!
        Also, the near-by airport of Tassignano offers the possibility of practicing sport para- chuting, using the airplanes of the local Airclub, while, for those people who are attracted by extreme sports, due to it special position San Giuliano is optimal for practicing hang-gliding.

The “East Baths” Spa:
       Water with beneficial effects and calciferous magnesic sulfate water, naturally rich in vital curative elements, gush forth at the foot of Mount San Giuliano at the Spa out of different springs and are gathered in two groups called the "East Baths" (40° C temperature) and the "West Baths" (38° C temperature).
        The different types of mud formed by the waters are famous and are the subject of numerous studies by the Hydrological Department at the University of Pisa. The mud and the baths at San Giuliano are particularly prescribed for rheumatic illnesses and the after-effects of injury and sprains. At San Giuliano inhalation treatments are also carried out which are especially indicated for cronic respiratory tract illnesses due to the alkalinity and the particular richness in calcium and the S04 of the water. The same therapeutic benfits are incorporated in the state-of-the-art pampering treatments which include Ayurvedic, Thai and Holistic therapies.
          With due respect to the spirit which has always enlivened classical thermal water baths, everyone can enjoy the benefits derived from them thanks to the arrangement through the National Health Service. We have chosen to be available for the wellness of everyone.

 How to reach us: The G. Galilei Airport in Pisa is 10 km away. Easily reached from cities of great historical interests are; Pisa (6 km, Lucca (12 km, Florence (78 km).
San Giuliano Terme also has a railway station stop on the Pisa-Florence line via Lucca; while the Pisa station which is 10 km away is on the Tirrenica railway line, one of the main Italian railway lines. (Sicily-Naples-Rome-Pisa-Genoa-Turin-Milan). Driving instructions on request.
